AN inquest into the alleged hit-and-run death of Bournemouth woman Fiona Welcome has been opened and adjourned.
The 42-year-old, of Holdenhurst Road, Springbourne, died in the early hours of May 9 after a collision involving a white Peugeot 206.
On Monday, Bournemouth Coroner's Court heard that Ms Welcome died after being involved in a crash while walking in Christchurch Road.
A post mortem examination concluded that she died of head and chest injuries.
She was confirmed dead on arrival, at 2.40am, May 9, at Southampton General Hospital.
The inquest has been adjourned until October, pending the ongoing police investigation.
A 25-year-old man from Hertfordshire and a 23-year-old man from the Bournemouth area were arrested on driving offences.
A 49-year-old from Hertfordshire was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
All three men have been released on bail until the beginning of August pending further enquiries.
Meanwhile, heart-felt tributes have been left at the scene of the collision.
A collection of teddy bears, ornaments and flowers have been attached to the railings overlooking the road.
One tribute read: “Fiona, so sorry for what happened to you. Rest in perpetual peace. You will be missed. Love Liz and Jason.”
Another, signed from Mel Mary, read: “No one can heal the pain I feel knowing I am not going to see or hear from you."
It continued: "Fiona, know I love you, always have and always will.”
Police are urging anyone who saw the car in the Boscombe area on the evening of Friday, May 8, or after the collision to come forward.
