EMERGENCY services were called to Winton this afternoon following reports a man had been stabbed.
Police attended the incident which took place at Hawthorn Road outside a residential property.
A spokesman from the South Western Ambulance Service said: “We were called to Hawthorn Road at 3.11pm to reports a 31-year-old man had sustained possible stab wounds to his back.
“The casualty was conscious and breathing at the scene.”
The man was taken to Poole Hospital for further treatment.
His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
A spokesman from Dorset Police said: “Officers were called at 3.14pm today to reports of an assault on a man at an address on Hawthorn Road, Bournemouth.
“The man had suffered a stab wound to his back and has been taken to Poole Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
“A 30-year-old woman from Bournemouth has been arrested in connection with the incident.”
