Over 30 years ago over 200 people queued along Poole High Street to take part in the 'biggest' jumble sale the town had ever known.
Organised by the Round Table in the former Tesco store there was much on offer to suit all family members, even a full-sized Daf car donated by the Hawkes family with a price tag of £150.
Cyril and Greta Edwards of the Sterte Esplande in Poole became the proud owners of the car. A photographer from the Poole Herald captured the happy couple with their son Steven receiving the keys from sale organiser Andrew Hawkes.
The jumble sale raised more than £1,000 for the Poole Hospital Scanner Appeal and other charities.
