TWO former Old Firm favourites came face to face at Troon at the weekend. Ex-Celt Frank

McGarvey made his debut for the home club and helped them to a 5-2 win over bottom club Irvine Meadow, who fielded ex-Ranger Robert Pritz.

McGarvey had recently been with Alan's Rough's Glenafton while Pritz had been training with Kilmarnock and Dumbarton.

Blunder keeper Sandy McLean sent Arthurlie to their second defeat in a row. This time they went down 3-2 to Lanark United.

Two second half goals from Scott McHarg gave Maryhill a

2-1 win over Larkhall in a match which saw one player sent off and 13 booked.

Benburb and Shettleston both finished with 10 men following the dismissal of Scot Graham and Billy Dalziel. A goal in each half by Kenny Robertson and Francis McKay gave the Bens a 2-0 win.

Pollok kept within striking distance of Maryhill at the top with a 5-0 win over Baillieston.

Davie walker made amends for a penalty miss with the first goal. Craig Cranmer made it two from the spot, John Barratt added a third and two late strikes from Milton Thompson completed the rout.

For the second successive week Petershill finished with 10 men following the dismissal of keeper Gerry McLaughlin against Blantyre who won 2-0.
