HE’S currently sitting at the top of the charts with his debut album Chaos And The Calm, now hat loving star ‎James Bay has announced a date at the BIC Solent Hall on October 6. Tickets go on sale this Thursday at 9am.

Released last week, Chaos and The Calm has won plaudits for its catchy songs full of confessional lyrics and infectious melodies. The album's narrative ‎details escapism, self-discovery, and the emotional adjustments required to keep up with James's fast-changing circumstances over the last few years.

Bay has spent the last two years touring, his mesmerising live show connecting with audiences across the globe. The 24 year old British musician is fast becoming a worldwide star having sold out tours in the UK, Europe, Australia and even broken the US market.

Current single Hold Back The River continues to grow charting at number two in this week’s chart, its highest position to date. The track is now certified Gold with accumulative sales of 400,000 copies.

Bay first came on to the music radar earlier this year when he scooped the BRITs Critics’ Choice. Previous winners include Adele, Florence + The Machine, Emeli Sande and Sam Smith. Despite being in such illustrious company, he's not let it go to his head just yet.

"I suppose it means I'm doing something right, doesn't it?" says Bay, 24.

"I don't make music for awards, and I don't think a lot of other people do either, even if some get caught up in that world.

"For me, the Critics' Choice is a great bit of recognition. The Brits are a big deal, globally, and at the same time, as a Brit myself, it's great that my music resonates on home turf. I like the idea of pushing boundaries and doing unexpected things in music, but that's all ahead of me. For now, I need to make a mark.

"It's by no means the-be-all-and-end-all, but it's very cool," adds the Hertfordshire-born singer.

“I'm not going to turn my nose up at something like that, I'd be mad to."

The winner will now embark on a sold out April UK tour playing two shows at Shepherd’s Bush Empire followed by a sold out U.S tour. He will then return to the UK to play prolific slots at many of this year’s festivals including Isle of Wight, T in the Park, V festival as well as a show at the Somerset House Series which sold out in record time.
