Want to hunt for your Easter eggs before you get to eat them? Then you're in luck as there are lots of Easter egg trails taking place all over Dorset today.

 

Here's a round-up of just some of the ones going on.

Look for Easter eggs with your little ones at Hengistbury Head on Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. You can pick up a trail sheet from the Visitor Centre. Booking not essential. The trail is suitable for all ages from 5+ and they must be accompanied by an adult. Entry is £1 per child.

Hunt for Easter eggs and take part in a series of activities along your way at the Avon Tyrell Outdoor Activity Centre on Easter Sunday. Entry is £3 per person and it all takes place between 9am and 2pm.

An Easter egg hunt will be taking place at Farmer Palmers across Easter weekend. Join the search and take part in Easter activities from 2.30pm each day between Good Friday and Easter Sunday. The Easter bunny will be making an appearance, too.

Forget Easter eggs, it’s all about dinosaur eggs at Dorchester’s Dinosaur Museum. The Great Easter Dinosaur Hunt takes place every day between Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, April 19. Children are invited to look for clues throughout the museum and solve the dinosaur mystery. All those who spot all the dinosaur eggs will win a special dinosaur hunter medal. The museum is open every day between 10am and 5pm.

A Cadbury Easter egg hunt will be taking place around Corfe Castle between 10am and 4pm on Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday.

Look out for Easter eggs as well as wildlife on Brownsea Island. Between Good Friday and Easter Monday, a variety of games and craft sessions are scheduled to be held on Church Field. Boats run from Poole Harbour to the island between 10am and 5pm. Standard boat crossing and entry fees apply.

Adventure Wonderland hosts an Easter extravaganza over four days with eggs hunts in their giant maze and egg and spoon races. Young ones can pet the Easter chicks, baby bunnies, kid goats and spring lambs in the Animal Cuddle Corner. Usual admission prices apply.

Kingston Maurward will be hosting its annual Easter egg hunt between Good Friday and Easter Monday. Search for clues around the Animal Park and be rewarded in chocolate. The fun takes place between 10am and 4pm. You can also get up close alpacas and meet cows, pigs, chickens and ducks. Normal admission prices apply, plus £1 each to take part in the Easter egg hunt.

Pretend you’re a giant and search for eggs at the same time at Wimborne Model Town Village & Gardens between April 5 and 12.

Head to The Ark in Poole Park on Easter Sunday and join the search for chocolate eggs. Youngsters will also have the chance to find a penguin card to exchange for a soft toy. There are two egg hunts, one at 10am for children aged 18 months to 7 years and another at 10.30am for children aged 8 to 11 years-old. Tickets are £2.50 and must be booked in advance as places are limited.

Join the hunt for Cadbury’s Easter eggs in the grounds of Kingston Lacy from each day until Sunday, April 12. The Easter egg trail is open from 4pm and costs £2.50 plus admission.

Take in the wildlife and search for clues on an Easter egg trail around RSPB Radipole Lake between Good Friday and East Monday. Entry is £1 per child and the fun takes place between 10am and 4pm.

A free Easter egg hunt takes place at the Courtyard Craft Centre at Lytchett Minster over Easter weekend between 11am and 4pm. Count the hidden eggs to claim your prize.

Find the Easter chicks hidden in the grounds of Highcliffe Castle and answer the questions as you go to win a chocolate prize between Good Friday and bank holiday Monday. Takes place between 11am and 4pm and costs £1 per trail from the receiption. 

Celebrate Easter at Studland with a Cadbury Easter Egg Trail along the beach and through the nature reserve. This year the Easter bunny has also paid a visit, so why not follow the bunny footprints and solve the clues to find your Cadbury chocolate Egghead prize? Costs £2.50 and runs over Easter weekend between 10.30am and 3.30pm. 

Join a fun-packed Easter egg trail at Stonebarrow Hill on the Golden Cap Estate. Trail starts from the Stonebarrow shop. Grid Reference SY383934, nearest postcode DT6 6RA. Lots of fun for all the family plus incredible views along the famous Jurassic Coast. Costs £3 and takes place between 11am and 3pm.
