For a man who has a reputation as the 'bad boy' of Strictly, Brendan Cole's feisty nature and outspoken manner have led to some of the show's most entertaining moments.

Here are a few of our favourites ahead of his show tonight at Lighthouse Poole...

1. The on-screen chemistry with Natasha Kaplinsky.

Still one of the most talked about partnerships in the entire Strictly series, it led to them winning the first series. Ultimately, despite Kaplinsky denying any involvement, the partnership led to the breakdown of Cole's relationship with fellow dancer Camilla Dallerup.

2. Fiery Fiona

At the other end of the scale, Brendan's partnership with the former GMTV presenter, was far more, let's say, trying. The pair were frequently seen rowing in footage, with their scores reflecting the state of their pairing - poor.

3. Murder on the Dancefloor

Brendan says he had an “incredible” relationship with Sophie Ellis-Bextor. The pair reached the final in 2013 and Brendan said in a recent interview in Seven Days magazine: “I had an incredible relationship with Sophie - we just had a connection, never had a cross word and it all came together.”

4. The winner that never was

Sadly, despite her obvious talent, Kelly Brook had to withdraw from the competition due to the death of her father. But not before Brendan had berated the judges in one of his famous outbursts.

5. Nearly but not quite

Lisa Snowden and Brendan made the final in 2008 after a great series. Although losing out to Tom Chambers, Lisa and Brendan wowed with their showdance and secured the second best result of Brendan's career on the show.

6. Fright Night

Possibly not his best look, the Halloween night of Strictly is always special, for the costumes alone. But it turned into Fright Night during 2010's pairing with Michelle Williams from Destiny's Child after judge Len Goodman criticised the dance.
