TRIBUTES have been paid to a popular teen from Turlin Moor who has died at the age of 17 following a battle with cancer.

Olivia Russell, known to friends and family as Lollie, received palliative care at Gully’s Place, based in Poole Hospital, after her family were told that the tumours in her head were incurable and that the cancer was terminal.

A huge outpouring of love has been expressed on Lollie’s Facebook page, following her death on February 18.

Samiie Brown posted a message to say: “I’m going to miss you, babe. You were the most amazing, most strongest girl I have ever met.

“I’m so glad to call you my best friend and always will be. I can’t believe that I’m writing this but you had a lot of fight and I’m so proud of you for coming so far.”

Harry-Lewis Windle said: “RIP Lollie, the most beautiful girl known to mankind. Heaven has you now, darling. Everybody loved you. Do you know why? You were perfect.”

Jade Russell said: “I’m not saying goodbye, I’m saying goodnight, princess. See you on the other side and I love you more than life itself.”

The teen, who was studying childcare at college, was the inspiration behind several fundraising events, including an evening of entertainment held at The Twin Sail Wharf and a charity cycle.

Money from both events was due to be split between Lollie and the Piam Brown children’s cancer unit at Southampton General Hospital.

On a Go Fund Me page set up entitled Help Lollie, £1,825 had been donated by 93 people to help Lollie with anything she may need during her time in hospital.

In addition to almost £460 which has been raised for Poole and District Children’s Cancer Fund on Virgin Money Giving, for a cycle arranged by family friend, Rebecca Way, in support of Lollie’s battle with cancer.
