Dishwasher fire put out

Fire crews were called to a house in Corfe Castle after a dishwasher caught fire.

A spokesman for Dorset Fire and Rescue confirmed the service was called to a property on East Street at 4.30pm on Saturday.

One crew from Swanage and one from Wareham attended. The fire was extinguished by removal of the dishwasher. The incident also caused traffic delays.

Garage is damaged

CHRISTCHURCH: Police are appealing for information after a garage was damaged at a property in Rodney’s Drive. Officers say an unknown offender, or offenders, forced open the garage overnight between Wednesday and Thursday.

It is not yet known if anything has been stolen. Anyone who saw anything suspicious is asked to call Dorset Police on 101, quoting crime reference 06189.

Fuel sparks engine fire

A car was damaged when it caught light off Peter Grant Way, Ferndown, on Friday night. Firefighters were called at around 11.50pm and put out the fire in the engine compartment of a Renault Laguna. The cause was thought to be a ruptured fuel line and the engine compartment was left damaged.

Witnesses are sought

Police are appealing for information after an attempted burglary at a property on Ramsbury Close in Blandord Forum at around 8.30pm on Wednesday.

The offenders tried to force entry through a rear door before breaking a window. They fled when the sound alerted neighbours.

Tea towel fire dealt with

A fire crew was sent to a block of flats in Albert Road, Corfe Mullen on Sunday afternoon after a tea towel caught fire. A spokesman said firefighters extinguished the flames by submerging the tea towel in a bowl of water.

Police hunt bike thief

A bike was stolen from outside a property in Elmes Road, Bournemouth between 3.30pm and 8.30pm on Friday. Witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to call 101 quoting crime number 6450.

Woman treated for smoke inhalation

A woman was treated for smoke inhalation after a fire at a block of flats in Aylesbury Road, Boscombe, on Thursday morning. Crews were called to reports of smoke at 9.45am. It is thought that the fire was caused by an occupier turning on the hob by mistake, which caused a frying pan with oil in it to overheat and catch fire.

Woman cut from car

A woman was cut out of her car following a two-vehicle crash one mile outside of Winterborne Whitechurch on Thursday night. Emergency services rushed to the scene shortly before 8pm. The casualty was suffering with chest and neck pain.

Suspect car appeal

Police are appealing for information following reports of a suspicious vehicle in the Glanvilles Wootton area of Blandford.

Officers say the car, thought to be a Mitsubishi L200 or similar vehicle, drove onto the driveway of a large property at around 12.15am on Sunday, February 5.

It then drove part of the way down the driveway before performing a u-turn and leaving at speed. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Dorset Police on 101.
