THE A350 is shut tonight after a crash.

Police said they were called to the main route at 8.20pm after a single-vehicle crash.

The ambulance service has also been called to the scene, at Compton Abbas, near Shaftesbury.

There are road closures in place at Fontmell Magna, a spokesman for Dorset Police said.

A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance said that crews were called at 8.16pm and two ambulances were sent to the scene. 

She added that one casualty was taken to Salisbury District Hospital for treatment. 

The extent of the injuries to the person involved is not yet known, but the car is thought to have rolled over.
