WORK to repair a water leak on a section of Ringwood Road close to the Mountbatten Roundabout in Wallisdown is causing long delays this morning.

Traffic management was put in place around the roundabout and the dual carriageway from 6.30pm tlast night so repairs to fix the issue could be carried out.

However, part of the road will be sectioned off for up to 48-hours to allow the works to cure before traffic can drive on it, which has been arranged with the Highway Authority.

A spokesperson for Sembcorp Bournemouth Water, said: “It is anticipated that the repair itself will be completed tonight however the road reinstatement will need up to 48 hours to cure before being subject to traffic loading.

“Therefore, the traffic management may be in place up to the evening of Thursday, January 29. We will of course do all we can to remove it as soon as possible and return the road to normal operation.

“There will inevitably be disruption to road users as a consequence of these essential repair works. We are sorry for the inconvenience of this incident.”
