A FURTHER six drink-drivers have been sentenced following a Dorset Police crackdown over Christmas.
At Bournemouth Magistrates Court last Tuesday, Kevin Allen, 54, admitted one count of driving while over the limit in Stafford Road on January 1.
His breath reading was double the drink-drive limit.
Allen, of Wootton Gardens, Bournemouth, was fined £240 and disqualified from driving for 18 months.
Adam Kubon
Also sentenced on Tuesday was Adam Kubon, 53, who had admitted driving a Toyota Corolla in Holdenhurst Road on the same date while more than three times drink-drive limit.
He had 115 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.
Kubon, of Malmesbury Park Place, Bournemouth, was fined £260 and banned from driving for 24 months.
Kiel Butler
In the west of the county, 24-year-old Kiel Butler crashed a BMW into a wall in Chickerell Road, Weymouth, on December 27. Weymouth Magistrates Court heard how Butler told residents who came out to investigate that he was drunk and asked them to call the police.
In mitigation Kenny Sharp said: “My client had been out in town earlier that evening and his vehicle was there. Whilst he didn't intend to drive it home, the temptation was there and he succumbed to it.”
Butler, of no fixed abode, entered a guilty plea and was fined £110 and banned from driving for 22 months.
Simon Powell
Others banned include Portland HGV driver Simon Powell, 46, whose two young daughters were found in his car when he was stopped by police in Easton Street on December 5.
He admitted drink-driving.
Powell, of Shortlands, had made “an enormously foolish mistake”, his counsel said. He was disqualified for 19 months and fined £300.
Kevin Cameron
Kevin Cameron, 24, of McCreery Road, Sherborne, admitted driving a Volkswagen Polo on the A30 on December 26 while double the drink-drive limit.
Weymouth Magistrates heard Cameron had admitted to police that he crashed the car and ran off, although in court he claimed to have no recall of the incident.
He was fined £110 and banned from driving for 22 months.
Sebastian Green
Sebastian Green, 25, of Pendily Avenue in Cornwall, was handed a 16-month driving ban after he admitted drink-driving along Radipole Lane in Weymouth on December 20.
He also received a £200 fine.
All of the above were ordered to pay prosecution costs of £85 and the victim surcharge.
