ANYONE interested in standing as a councillor can find out more about the process at two upcoming information days.

Bournemouth Borough Council will be holding information days at the Littledown Centre on Saturday, January 31, and at the Bournemouth Learning Centre in Ensbury Park on Wednesday, February 4.

The informal events are designed to give anyone who is considering standing in the council elections on May 7 an opportunity to find out more about the role and responsibilities it involves.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the election and nomination process, the role of a councillor, training and development opportunities available, support available and how the council makes decisions.

Tony Williams, council chief executive, said: “This is a great opportunity for residents to find out more about being a councillor.

“I urge anyone considering applying to come along and find out more about the responsibilities and commitment involved.”

The Littledown event will be between 1.30pm and 4.30pm while the Ensbury Park one will be between 6pm and 9pm.
