TWO people have been arrested following three crimes in Poole this morning including a car-jacking close to a primary school.
Dorset Police received a call at 11.10am with reports of an attempted theft of cash from a person who was withdrawing money for an ATM outside Lloyds Bank on Ashley Road in Parkstone.
Around 40 minutes later officers were called to Library Road, close to Heatherlands Primary School, after a blue VW Golf was taken from a woman after she was forced out of the car.
It was then seen being driven towards Alder Hills. The woman driver of the Golf escaped uninjured.
Christian Malone, head teacher of Heatherlands Primary School, reassured parents and carers that it was thought to be an isolated incident, but reminded residents to be vigilant.
A short time later, police were called to Central convenience store at Haven Road in Canford Cliffs after a woman had her handbag snatched.
Police have arrested a 31-year-old man from Poole along Ashley Road in connection with the three incidents.
In addition, a 35-year-old Poole woman has been arrested on suspicion of obstructing police. Both people are continuing to help police with their enquiries.
Witnesses and anyone with information should contact Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 26:161 or call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
