SIX cheeky lads are taking on a serious challenge by swimming the Channel to raise money for charity.

Formally known as the Cheeky Channel Champs, the six young men are swimming the 22-mile stretch across the Channel this July to raise funds for Life Education Wessex, which provide health and drug prevention education to 30,000 children in Dorset every year.

Taking part are Remee Damiani, Joe Greenslade, Carol Dillon, Graham Cook, Ollie Smith, and Tom Craven.

They will also be raising money for Gok Wan’s anti-bullying charity Kidscape.

Lorraine Hewitt, fundraising manager for Life Education Wessex said: “The challenge is a major fundraiser for the charity and an amazing and extremely tough challenge for these young men, who are undertaking to swim 22 miles across the Channel with no wet suits and in the dark.

“They are training every day in the pool doing 90 lengths, six days a week, as well as swims in the freezing cold sea.

“The realisation of what they have committed to has really started to hit home, so they would appreciate your support.”
