SINGER songwriter SOAK will headline a free intimate gig at a skate park in Weymouth.

The Irish musician, born Bridie Monds-Watson, performs on Saturday, February 14 at The Front Skate Park in Preston Beach Road.

The multi-instrumentalist has toured with George Ezra and will be performing will be Weymouth’s The Leggomen.

SOAK – from ‘soul’ and ‘folk’– performed in Weymouth last year at the Skate Girls Productions Summer Jam.

Since then SOAK, pictured right, has been named as one of the Top 10 acts to watch in 2015, has been signed by a record label and has an album coming out in March. She has appeared on the Annie Mac Show.

Still just 18-years-old, Bridie has been performing in her home of Derry since the age of 14, where she spent her time between studying, the local skate park, and her burgeoning songwriting.

Last year she became the first signing to CHVRCHES’ singles label, releasing the beautiful ‘Blud’.

In the same summer that most of her friends got their A-Level results, SOAK penned an album deal with Rough Trade Records and aired the beautiful ‘B a noBody’.

Sadie Osborne, of The Front Skate Park, said: “Having SOAK perform is a great thing for Weymouth.

“The fact she has requested to have The Front skatepark as one of her venues for her mini UK tour has blown our minds.

“It’s also great for us to have The Leggomen supporting because they have gained so much recognition lately and have been featured on BBC South.!

The gig will be inside at the skate park starting at 7pm. During the day there will be a regular skating session from noon to 4pm.

The event is free but ticketed as it has a limited capacity of 40. Tickets are available now and must be booked online at billetto.co.uk/soak-sk9-weymouth
