A MAN has appeared in court this morning charged with attempted murder following an alleged shooting at a house in West Howe on Monday.

Kieran Joseph Cameron of Milborne Crescent, Poole, appeared before Bournemouth magistrates and was remanded in custody.

Cameron, 32, was wearing a red T-shirt and tracksuit bottoms and laughed and joked with two women in the public gallery during the brief hearing.

He will appear before Bournemouth Crown Court on Thursday January 15 for a preliminary hearing.

Cameron is charged with attempting to murder Aidan Michael Goodenough at Hanlon Close, Bournemouth on January 5. He is also accused of possessing a firearm, namely a handgun, at the time of committing an offence specified in the Firearms Act 1968 The incident, during which a firearm was allegedly discharged, is alleged to have taken place at around 8.30pm on Monday night.

Neighbours told how several police vehicles were on the scene and a semi-detached house was cordoned off while the surrounding area was searched.

Scenes of crime officers were called and officers carried out a fingertip search in the garden of the property.

Four other people arrested following the incident were questioned by police before being released on bail, pending further inquiries.
