POLICE have issued a CCTV image of a suspect they would like to speak to after an off-licence was ram-raided in Southbourne.

At around 3.55am on Friday, January 2, a silver car ploughed into the front of the One Stop Shop on Southbourne Grove.

Police say a number of bottles of spirits were stolen from the store. The car was then seen travelling the wrong way up Pine Avenue as it left the area.

Officers released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the burglary and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Constable Jon Sainsbury, of Bournemouth CID, said: “Following my investigations, I am now in a position to issue CCTV images of a male suspect and the vehicle we believe was involved.

“The suspect is described as white and was wearing a black hat, dark jacket and light-coloured gloves.

“The vehicle involved in the burglary was a silver estate car and is likely to have suffered damage at the rear and to the casing of the passenger side wing mirror.

“I am appealing to anyone who recognises the man by his clothing or saw a vehicle matching a similar description in the area at the time to contact me in confidence.

“All calls will be dealt with in strict confidence.”

Witnesses and anyone with information should contact Dorset Police on 101 quoting incident number 2:25 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
