A MAIN road was closed this afternoon after a car crashed and landed on its roof.

It happened on the A350 near Lytchett Matravers at around 3.20pm and emergency services were sent to the scene.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said it was not thought that anybody had been seriously injured, and that all occupants were out of the car, a white Ford Focus registered to a Blandford man.

The crash, which reportedly also involved a tractor, was near to Woodlands Nursery. Woodlands manager Andy Hounsell said it was an "accident blackspot".

"It happened just outside, the road is closed and apparently it is pandemonium out there," he said.

"No one is going anywhere. There are accidents at the top of the hill there consistently.

"We have got used to it, although we have been complaining to the local authority about it for years, but they don't have the money to sort the problem out."

The road was closed between Limberlost and the Roundhouse Roundabout, where the A350 meets the A31, but has now reopened.
