A REWARD of £1,000 is being offered to anyone who can provide information to the police about a recent air gun attack on a cat in Southbourne.

Steve Fowler, managing director and founder of PamPurredPets, said he is prepared to offer the money to anyone who helps the police successfully convict the ‘cowardly individual’ who not only caused distress to the cat, but to the owners and everyone involved.

He said: “I was furious when I saw the news about another attack on a cat in the region within just a few months. I hope that the reward will help the police and authorities to catch the sick individual who obviously has no thought for the sanctity of life.

“I know that our customers in the Dorset area will also be sickened by the incident.”

A spokesman from Dorset Police said officers were investigating the incident, which is believed to have happened sometime between 11am and 7pm on Friday, December 5.

Anyone with information should contact the police on 101 and quote incident number 6:127 Witnesses can also call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
