STARS from Frozen were the guests of honour at the launch of the BIC’s Cool Coast Ice Rink yesterday.

The Purbeck Hall was decked out with blue fairy lights and the red carpet was laid out on the rink as the Disney stars stepped out onto the ice to greet the crowds.

The characters were joined by a local freestyle ice skating team, BxFist, who swirled around the rink with batons of fire to contrast with the ice.

Sarah Gwynne, Marketing Executive for the BIC and the Pavilion, said she was “really pleased with the turnout.”

She added: “We invited Elsa and Anna from Frozen here to open the rink with a bit of a bang.

“We also had some kids come along from the Mosaic charity in Dorset, which helps bereaved children. So we were quite fortunate that we were able to invite them and give them a free ice skating session.”

The ice rink is now open to the public until February 22.
