POLICE and paramedics were called to a crash involving a car and motorbike in Wallisdown this afternoon.

A woman was taken to hospital with back injuries following the collision, which took place near the Mountbatten Roundabout shortly after 1pm.

A spokesman from the South Western Ambulance Service said: “There were two people on the bike. The female passenger suffered a back injury and was taken to Royal Bournemouth Hospital for treatment.

“The driver of the motorbike and the driver of the car were not injured.”

The woman’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The crash took place next to Topps Tiles.

Aron Hoff, customer service advisor at the store, said the collision involved a black Fiat Panda and a motorbike.

He said: “We had a delivery. We looked out the window and saw everyone crowded around. It looked like someone was badly hurt.”
