THERE will be live street entertainment and ‘pop-up shops’ in Boscombe precinct this Saturday to mark the beginning of the area’s Countdown to Christmas.
The event, from 11am to 3pm, will also see poetry, arts and crafts stalls in the Royal Arcade and ‘shop-and-drop’ arts workshops at the Creative Kids shop in the Sovereign Shopping Centre.
Alun Williams from the Coastal BID, which supports the event, said: “Boscombe is such a vibrant and creative community.
“This year’s Countdown to Christmas seeks to reflect this in the range of entertainment and activities being offered over the four Saturdays leading up to Christmas – with the aim to making shopping fun for the whole family.”
Events continue next week on Saturday, December 6, with live bands, choirs and dance troupes and the Boscombe Vintage Market in the Royal Arcade.
On December 13 there will be free guided tours of Boscombe showcasing its Victorian heritage, with more arts workshops, street magicians and performances in the precinct area, then on the final Saturday – December 20 – there will be a fancy dress lantern parade and carol singing.
