A man was taken to hospital after a chemical substance was thrown into his face in Christchurch.

The victim, a 19-year-old local man, was about to get into a car which was parked outside McColls newsagents in Somerford Road when two men appeared.

A liquid substance was squirted into his eyes from a Lucozade bottle.

The incident happened at around 6.40pm on Friday 14 November 2014.

Detective Sergeant Jamie Halford, of Bournemouth CID, said: “The victim required hospital treatment following this attack.

“I am appealing for anyone who saw the incident, or has any information about those responsible, to contact Dorset Police.

One of the offenders is described as white, aged in his early 20s, five feet eight inches tall and of average build. He was wearing a black hooded top and black trousers.

The second offender is described as white, aged in his early 20s, five feet 11 inches tall, with short light brown hair and had stubble. He was wearing dark clothing.
