POLICE were called to Queens Road in Bournemouth following reports of a man being involved in a collision with a car this morning.
The emergency services were contacted at 10.20am and officers attended the scene outside the Spar shop.
Queens Road was closed for around 20 minutes by police, while ambulance staff attended to the man before taking him to hospital.
A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service confirmed that they were called to Queens Road and took a man, who was complaining of back pain, to Poole Hospital for treatment.
Following the incident, a spokesperson for Dorset Police said that despite initial reports, the man was not involved in a road traffic collision.
