AN attempted mugging was foiled last week when the victim knocked his assailant to the ground after a struggle.
Police in Blandford Forum are appealing for witnesses following the attempted robbery, which occurred in Elizabeth Road at around 8.45pm on Thursday, September 25.
The offender approached the 19-year-old Blandford resident from behind and demanded he hand over his wallet and mobile phone, pushing him in the chest when he refused. The would-be thief was floored in the ensuing struggle and fled on foot towards Larksmead.
He was described as white, about six feet tall, of slim build, wearing a dark hooded top, jogging bottoms and light coloured trainers.
He may have received a cut to his mouth during the incident.
