It was a leap of faith for 17-year-old William Morris when he jumped out of a plane to raise money for charity.

The teenager, who was born with chromosomal disorder XYY, regularly visits the Children’s Team at Diverse Abilities Plus and goes on organised days out and activities, raised £2,275 for the organisation.

He chose to undertake the 15,000 foot skydive to say thank you for the charity’s support, and asked for money for his birthday and for Christmas to fund the jump, so every penny raised went straight to Diverse Abilities Plus.

Taking on the challenge with William was his mother Julie, who volunteered to jump with William in case he panicked on the day, but William took it all in his stride and his mother was the terrified one.

He said: “I really enjoyed the skydive experience and definitely want to do it again.

“I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone that has sponsored me.”

Diverse Abilities Plus is on the lookout for daring individuals to sign up for a 10,000ft skydive challenge in June, 2015 as part of the charity’s 60th anniversary.
