POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a burglary in Lytchett Matravers.

The burglary is believed to have occurred at some point between 8am and 12.35pm on Wednesday, September 17, at a house on Landers Reach, officers said today.

While the occupants were out, burglars removed a fence panel to gain entry to the rear garden before forcing a ground floor window to gain access to the property.

A large amount of jewellery and an iPad mini were stolen.

PC Mari Montgomery, of Purbeck police, said: “This is an extremely distressing crime for the victims.

“The stolen jewellery has a great sentimental value.

“I would urge anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area, in particular in Foxhills Road, to come forward as soon as possible.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who has been offered jewellery or a white iPad mini for sale in strange circumstances or for an unusually low price.”

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101, quoting incident number 17:214.
