TRIBUTES have been paid to a teenage music enthusiast found dead at his Bournemouth home.

The body of 19-year-old Gethin Beeney was discovered on Sunday at his address in Leybourne Avenue, Ensbury Park. There are no suspicious circumstances.

This morning distraught family members and friends were together at the address but were too upset to comment. Family members are believed to have travelled from Wales to Bournemouth after hearing of the tragedy.

Gethin is a former student of the Academy of Contemporary Music’s Regional centre (ACMR) in Wimborne Road where Managing Director Rob Birchall said: “ACMR send their condolences to the family.”

A friend who studied with Gethin at ACMR described him as “a really happy, go-getting guy.”

He added: “He was a top guy and always made everyone laugh and had a smile on his face.”

The friend said Gethin completed a one-year drumming course and was in several bands.

And he said he heard about Gethin’s death on Sunday afternoon and that dozens of his friends got together at Slades Farm last night to remember him.

Many other friends have taken to social media sites to pay tribute to Gethin.

Katie Laurilla said: “RIP Gethin, amazing memories, never forgotten, forever in my heart. Love you, thoughts with friends and family.”

Jack Vallier tweeted: “Just found out mine and my band’s and my college’s mate has died. Hope you’re in a better place Gethin.”

And justjay said: “Sleep tight Gethin you legend, I will always treasure our jams. RIP mate.”

Other friends said: “I guess I never knew how close the ACMR family was until our brother was taken. I hope there’s drums up there for you bud” and “Cannot believe the news – in pieces.”

A spokesman for Dorset Police said officers were called to a report of a sudden death at Leybourne Avenue at 9.40am on Sunday.

“Sadly a 19-year-old man was discovered to have died at the address” said a Dorset Police spokesman.

“It is not being treated as suspicious. Her Majesty’s Coroner and next of kin have been informed.”
