FOUR terrified little boys were indecently assaulted as they played in a popular party venue, it is alleged.

The youngsters ran screaming from a games arena in Laser Quest after the frightening incident on Sunday afternoon.

Police were called to the Glen Fern Road venue just before 5pm and a full investigation is underway.

It is understood that the victims, aged between six and nine, will be interviewed later this week.

The Daily Echo has been told that the children were pushed into corners of the dark venue and assaulted. They are also believed to have been the victims of indecent exposure.

A spokesman for Dorset Police confirmed an investigation has been launched and a spokesman for the venue said he was also making inquiries.

The spokesman said: “At 4.59pm on Sunday, Dorset Police responded to a report that a 16-year-old boy had attempted to kiss four boys, aged between six and nine-years-old in Laser Quest, Bournemouth.

“Officers have spoken with all parties involved in the incident and inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances. No arrests have been made.”

A relative of two of the victims told the Echo: “They were frightened and extremely upset by what had happened. They couldn’t stop crying.

“They said they had been pushed into corners and kissed by a boy much older than them. They said he was also flashing at them and trying to touch them.”

Town centre councillor David Smith said: “I am very disappointed to hear of this alleged incident. “I have never heard of anything like this happening there before and I trust the police will investigate and take the necessary action as soon as possible.”

Laser Quest is a popular children’s party venue and is billed as the south’s largest laser tag arena. It is a game of suspense, sometimes described as a high-tech version of tag or hide and seek.

A spokesman for the venue said: “The matter is under investigation.”
