A BLUSHING bride who dreamt of being a pirate ever since she was a little girl celebrated her big day surrounded by an army of pirate pals in Poole.

Aimi and Richard Bracher tied the knot at the Guildhall in front of friends, family and around 20 pirates on Sunday.

After the ceremony the happy couple were greeted with a guard of honour as they left the Guildhall as man and wife.

Aimi Bracher, nee Healey, who used to be the secretary of the Pirates of Poole, said: “We had such a fantastic day.

“The weather was just beautiful – we were so lucky.”

The charity administrator said when she met Richard five and a half years ago it was love at first sight.

“We met at the Hobbit pub in Southampton and that was that,” the 39-year-old said. “I moved down to Poole to be with him.”

When they couple moved to the borough in 2010 Aimi joined the town’s infamous Pirates of Poole.

“I always wanted to be a pirate when I was little,” she said.

“I was secretary of the Pirates of Poole but I gave it up when I moved back to Wales a couple of years ago.”

Desperate for her fellow pirate enthusiasts to be at the wedding, the couple were adamant to celebrate their big day in Poole.

“We just love Poole so much and we loved living in Poole,” Aimi said.

“It was perfect. We wanted to do everything our own way.”

“We laughed all day and it was so good to share it with our favourite people in our favourite place.”
