POLICE have arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with two assaults in New Milton in the early hours of Saturday morning.
As reported in the Daily Echo, a 23-year-old man was struck with a glass bottle and his 22-year-old girlfriend was punched in the head on Barton Court Road at around 1.30am.
Just two hours later a second couple were attacked on Ashley Common Road at the junction to Poplar Road. Police say a 32-year-old man received minor head and facial injuries.
Yesterday a spokeswoman from Hampshire Constabulary said a 25-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested in connection with the assaults.
Police are continuing to search for one other suspect.
Anyone who witnessed the assaults or has information about those responsible for the attacks is asked to contact Hampshire Constabulary by calling 101.
