Bridport-based Stompin’ Dave Allen returns to the Marine Theatre, Lyme Regis on Friday, September 19.

Dave sings, plays guitar, five-string banjo, fiddle, harmonica, piano and flatfoot dances often while simultaneously playing an instrument and singing.

He has performed across the UK and beyond. Festival appearances have included Glastonbury Festival, Bestival, Camp Bestival and Cork Folk Festival, to name a few.

He has been invited to perform at both The Boogaloo Blues Festival on the Isle of Wight and The Great Dorset Steam fair for over five years in succession.

He has toured internationally with the British-American bluegrass band The Coal Porters, and the multi award winning Carrivick Sisters, as well as around the UK in the company of various other bands.

With a master degree in music performance John is also in demand as a teacher and has been booked to teach at the internationally renowned Sore Fingers Summer School as well as by The British Bluegrass Music Association.

He has performed as a guest musician with BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award finalists the Jaywalkers in a project bringing Bluegrass music into schools, as well as being a founder member of the Bath Bluegrass School.
