A HAPPY couple from Ringwood were given a send-off from a few revving bikes on their special day.

The new Mr and Mrs Day, Ashley, 45, and his wife, Sam, 41, were joined by some of their friends from the Smugglers MCC Jurassic Coast group after getting married at Poole Guildhall.

He wore a leather jacket and biker boots, while she wore a stone-grey beaded dress, Doctor Martens and comic strip print leggings underneath and both had his and hers biker goggles.

Ashley said that they met around nine years ago as friends when he worked as a DJ at the pub Sam also worked at and officially became a couple two years ago.

Ashley added: “We got together in November 2012 and then I proposed on Christmas Eve that year and she said ‘Yes’.

“We thought that it would be great to incorporate the club into the wedding and we thought that it would be great for everyone to ride out from the beautiful venue of the Guildhall in Poole.”

He said that there were many elements of their wedding day which incorporated their shared love of Marvel comics in addition to Sam’s leggings, such as him wearing a Captain America t-shirt under his suit and a comic-themed wedding cake.

Ashley said that he was introduced to the Smugglers MCC Jurassic Coast group by his old school friend, Danny Pleace, who had lost contact with, but met by chance last year.

Tony Philogene from Verwood kindly provided the motor trike to take the happy couple to their hotel in St Leonard’s Hotel in Ringwood, where they stayed in place of having a traditional wedding reception.
