Drivers heading home after the final day of Bournemouth Air Festival 2014 found themselves stuck in ten mile tailbacks on the A338 and A31.
Traffic was still queuing on the A31 at 10.30pm last night, and drivers were reporting journeys of almost 2 hours from Blackwater to Ashley Heath.
Air Festival organisers estimated there were 400,000 people at Sunday's displays, but despite efforts to get people to stagger their departures, traffic was at a standstill from Ashley Heath to Blackwater by 5.30pm and stayed that way until about 10pm

It was not the only traffic jam of the weekend. On Saturday - when crowds hit a record 448,000 - roads in and around Bournemouth were logjammed, with bus companies running delays of up to an hour.
At Redhill Park and Ride an estimated 400 people waited two hours for buses to take them to the town centre.
Jill Keast, who told the Daily Echo she’d been queuing for over an hour, said: “They’ve taken our money and dumped us in a queue.”
Meanwhile, Peter Pritchard – who had travelled to the air festival from Farnborough, Hampshire, said he’d only seen two buses make pick-ups in the hour he’d been waiting.
