AN ABBA tribute show, marking 40-years since the Swedish stars first wowed Eurovision Song judges with their smash hit Waterloo, is coming to Swanage.

The town’s Mowlem Theatre will host the show, that will be performed by acclaimed tribute act Gimme Abba.

A theatre spokesman explained: “Abba had nine UK number one hits. Their popularity has grown exponentially over the years and they are now the third biggest selling band of all time.

“Abba’s enormously successful career led to their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.”

Gimme Abba have been performing their show at venues across the world for more than 14 years and it is packed with fans’ favourites.

A spokesman said: “The show has developed over the years into more than just another Abba tribute – the humour, energy and enjoyment generated on stage delights audiences and provides a light-hearted side to the show, without compromising any of the wonderful Abba music known and loved by millions.

“Included are many costume changes and choreographed dance routines that along with four-part vocal harmonies recreate that original Abba party feel.”

Gimme Abba will be appearing at The Mowlem Theatre, Swanage, on Friday, August 29, at 7.30pm.
