The CBI has commented on this week’s GCSE results.

Katja Hall, CBI deputy director-general, said: “Recent reforms have helped increase rigour in our exam system, but more must be done to ensure a GCSE pass is an accurate measure of not just how well a young person does in the exam hall, but also the skills they can bring to the workplace.”

Exams these days are not the same as the old GCE O levels. We had to work hard all year to pass the exam at the end of the year, not get credit for work during the year.

What is the point of this over 1 statement? So either they crow about year on year record passes or say that exams are not everything.
