A MAN was pushed to the ground and robbed during an attack on Saturday afternoon.
The victim, a 42-year-old man from Bournemouth, was walking along the pathway at the top of Central Gardens leading to Crescent Road when the attack happened.
Police say the man walked past the offender who pushed him to the floor, searched his pockets and removed a £20 note.
The victim was able to move away from the attacker and jumped over a wall into a car park in Crescent Road, five feet below.
The offender then smashed a glass bottle and threatened him before leaving.
The victim suffered grazing to his face, arm and chest.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said the attacker was described as a black male, around 35-40 years old, six feet tall with a stocky, athletic build.
He had a clean-shaven round face and was wearing dark clothing with a baseball cap.
Detective constable David Baker said the victim was ‘left in a state of shock’.
Police are keen to speak to anyone with information, in particular a man who helped the victim in the car park.
