A WOMAN was left shaken after an attempted handbag theft in Westbourne.

The victim, a woman in her forties was approached from behind by two men who demanded money from her before trying to grab her bag.

The incident on Friday August 8, took place around 9pm in Clarendon Road.

Details have only just been released by police.

During the attempt to grab her bag, the victim’s phone fell to the ground and broke.

The offenders are described as white men, aged between 23 and 26-years-old, around five feet nine inches tall, of medium build with short brown hair.

One of the men was wearing a blue T-shirt and tracksuit bottoms and the other was wearing a grey hooded top.

PC Neil Robinson said: “This incident left the victim very shaken.

“I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened or who may have seen anything that could help with the investigation.

“In particular I would like to speak with anyone who may have seen two men fitting the description of the offenders in the Clarendon Road area of Westbourne at approximately 9pm on Friday 8 August 2014.”
