A MAN and his three huskies have completed a charity walk of over 300 miles from Manchester to Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

Keath Armstrong, 32, was joined by dogs, Sakari, Nukka and Nala for the journey in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, in memory of brothers, Carl and Richard Jones, who both died after a battle with the condition.

He started out in Manchester on July 18, with just a home-made sled containing his belongings and a tent and the three huskies for company, as he made his way to his new home of Bournemouth.

Keath said: “I wanted to do this for everyone who has Cystic Fibrosis, particularly for Carl, who died aged 20 in 2006 and my best friend, Richard, who died in 2013, aged 30, both from Cystic Fibrosis.

“The dogs have been really good and I’ve tried to keep them cool by giving them lots of water along the way.”

He said that he was ‘relieved’ to reach Bournemouth Square, where he was greeted by mum, Beatrice Ball, and a group of friends and Cystic Fibrosis Trust supporters.

“Everyone has been really nice and really supportive along the way, which has been great, and people have helped me with food, beer and places to sleep along the way.

“So far it has raised around £3,000 for the charity, which is great as people have put money in the bucket along the way and it has helped to spur me on to keep going.”
