Two men found by coastguard teams aboard yacht

Coastguard rescue teams were called with concerns for two men on Wareham River on Monday evening.

Portland Coastguard received a call just after 9.15pm from a concerned family member worried about the safety of the two men.

Poole Inshore Lifeboat and Kimmeridge Coastguard Rescue Team were sent to try and find the pair.

They were found aboard a yacht and taken back to shore into the care of Coastguard officers.

Wareham River is as safe as a bathtub. Why call out the Coastguard?

I could have found them on my bike along the river path, and saved them a lot of trouble.
