A MAN from Wimborne who was reported as missing on Thursday has been found, said Dorset Police.

David Button, 54, who was last seen at his home address in the St Leonards area at 3pm on August 7, was found safe and well just after 11.30am this morning.

He had left a note saying that he was going for a walk but did not return as expected, leading to him being reported as missing at 10pm on Thursday night.

Dorset Police put out an appeal for information as to David’s whereabouts, including the fact that he had not taken any of his personal possessions or his car with him.

Force Incident Commander, Debbie Marsden, described his disappearance as ‘out of character’ and that everyone who knows him was very worried and wished to find him as soon as possible.

While it's brilliant he's been found, is there no explanation as to where he'd been? I don't mean details but when the county has been told someone's missing for over 24 hours and police and media are alerted it's nice to know a bit more.

Maybe his interest is a higher priority than the public interest. Maybe tough times for one reason or another. Tomorrow there will be another news story to entertain you but having his situation on the internet might be harder to move on from. maybe its nothing, safe and well is enough in my opinion.

I thought the same...lwhy do we need to know the ins and outs,... He has been found safe i think that is enough and the end to a very stressful 24 hours for his family.

Maybe he got lost, maybe he had some tough times.
Regardless of what happened (which is none of out business), it's a lovely relief to have a story end this way. Unfortunately these stories have a habit of ending in a less happy ending
Nobody other than David or his family needs to know the details
