A MOTORCYCLIST has been injured after an alleged hit and run on the Wessex Way this afternoon.
Police were called to the scene, close to the exit with the Richmond Hill Roundabout, at 4.15pm after reports of a collision between a gold Toyota Yaris and a yellow CBR motorbike.
The road remained open following the incident, with an ambulance and police car parked in the centre of the carriageway.
Speaking to the Echo at the scene, a police officer said the 20-year-old casualty had sustained minor injuries and was taken to Bournemouth Hospital for treatment.
He added that police are appealing for witnesses and want to speak to a male driving a gold Toyota Yaris.
Anybody with information should contact Dorset Police on 101.
