A LINE-UP of talented acts is set to perform over four days in five venues across Boscombe next month.

The arts charity, Vita Nova, is hosting Boscombe Fringe Festival between September 11 to 14, across studio-style and outdoor spaces such as Chaplin’s & The Cellar Bar and Shelley Theatre.

Gemma Alldred, festival director, says: “Boscombe Fringe 2013 showcased the work of local artists to sell-out audiences across two days. This year Vita Nova hopes we can attract even more local people to these free events at some great Boscombe venues.”

Rather than paying up front, visitors are invited to contribute the amount they thought it was worth at the end of the performance.

The festival will showcase theatre, music, live art and dance exhibitions by both community groups and professional artists.

Uniquely, the 22 acts in Boscombe Fringe Festival have been selected as they are affected by mental health, addiction and poverty. Vita Nova helps people to recover from these social issues.

Volunteers are needed to help welcome audiences and artists. Backstage and technical volunteers are also in demand to help run the events, and training and information days will be provided later in August.
