The westbound carriageway of part of the Dorset Way is shut after a lorry hit a bridge.

Police were called at 4.41pm to the scene near the Oakdale turn-off after the lorry hit the Darby’s Lane bridge.

No serious injuries have been reported and the council has been called to the scene to inspect the bridge before the road can be reopened.

Three new traveller encampments have been set up across Bournemouth and Poole after 25 caravans left Turlin Moor last night. This morning, three had moved to Baiter Park.  Ten have moved to the Cotlands Road car park in Bournemouth and more are at Beach Road Car Park in Canford Cliffs.
