FORECASTERS have issued a weather warning for the south west as days of sunshine come to an end.
It is predicted that heavy rain will spread across the south west from this evening, affecting much of the area overnight before clearing early on Wednesday morning.
The Met Office has also said that members of the public should be aware of the potential for localised surface water flooding.
The yellow warning – meaning ‘be aware’ – will come into force at 10pm tonight, and last until 8am tomorrow morning.
A spokesperson from the Met Office said up to 40mm of rain is expected to fall in some areas within six hours – the average rainfall received across UK weather stations for the whole of July was 59mm.
