Portland Coastguard recieved a 999 call just before midday on Monday.
It was reported that a man was pursuing an inflatable that was being blown across the water at Hamworthy Park. The man was said to be in difficulties and the Poole inshore lifeboat was launched and took the man ashore.
He was assessed and found to be fit and well.
