THE first meeting over the proposed wind farm for the Dorset coast will be held in September, it has been announced.

A preliminary meeting, which will discuss the procedure for examining the application for the Navitus Bay development, will be held on September 11 at the Tregonwell Hall inside the BIC.

A letter sent to all interested parties states that the meeting will run from 9.30am and will discuss the way in which the application will be looked at, but not the merits of the application at this stage.

If given the go-ahead, the development will see as many as 194 turbines, as high as 200 metres, 13 miles from Bournemouth and Poole.
