AT LEAST a dozen vehicles have been damaged during a night of mindless vandalism in Corfe Mullen.

Shocked owners were left facing hefty repair bills after windscreens, windows and wing mirrors were smashed during a two-hour wrecking spree in the early hours of Saturday, July 26.

Dorset Police were initially called to Corfe Mullen in response to reports of four youths kicking cars in Phelipps Road – but as officers investigated, it quickly emerged vehicles in neighbouring streets had also been damaged.

Cars sustained alleged criminal damage in Phelipps Road, Rushcombe Way, Ralph Road, Highfield Road, Gurney Road and Brook Lane. However, officers fear even more cars may have been targeted so are asking residents in the area to check their vehicles.

A Dorset Police spokesman confirmed: “In the early hours of July 26 we had reports of a large number of vehicles damaged in Corfe Mullen, sometime between 3-5am.

“Twelve vehicles had wing mirrors broken off, windscreens and windows smashed. Anyone that has suffered any damage to their vehicle or property should contact us.”

Investigating officers have also appealed for witnesses and for anyone who has CCTV cameras on their property to check footage from around the time of the alleged criminal damage.

They are a 19-year-old man, a 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man.
