A RECRUITMENT drive to fill up to 18 Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) positions in Dorset has been launched.
Dorset Police say they have vacancies in a number of areas, including Bournemouth, Wimborne, Ferndown, Poole and Christchurch.
Chief Constable Debbie Simpson said: “PCSOs are at the frontline of the community policing, and form an essential part of Dorset Police.
“Providing a highly visible and highly reassuring presence across Dorset, the role is exciting, challenging, rewarding and offers a chance for you to bring your skills knowledge and experience to help keep local communities safe.”
Dorset’s Police and Crime Commissioner Martyn Underhill describes PCSOs as performing one of the “most demanding but rewarding roles” in Dorset Police.
He added: “You will help reduce crime and anti-social behaviour by dealing with minor offences and support frontline policing.”
The closing date for applications is August 26. Visit dorset.police.uk
